Birthday party in San Diego.

Last summer I bartended my buddies wedding.  The food was catered by the Inslider food truck.  Those were some awsome sliders.

The owner of The Inslider SD was throwing a party for her close friend and wanted a bartender. My buddy gave her my contact info.  So I bartended this awsome party. People were some awsome down to earth real people.

The food this time was catered by another food truck the host knew.  Fridas Cocina
These were some of the best fish tacos I have had yet.  The fish options were white fish and a sword fish. I had the white fish.  They were cooked perfectly. Tender and flaky not overdone and tough.  The toppings were great.  Cabbage and salsa were awsome.  Quality ingredients and great staff.  I would highly recommend them for your event.

Crushed it at Super Bowl XLIX

This weekend Super Bowl Party was incredible.
Since this was for a repeat client I already knew where to set up the bar.   I was able to show up and get right to it.   These people are like family.  Everyone loved the drinks and the game.

Can you believe that ending.  WOW was that great.

Another successful party in beautiful Rancho Palos Verde over looking the ocean on a clear day.

I did get a chance to use my juice bottle spout.  It worked like a charm.   Great addition to my gear.
Hit drink if the night - Micheladas and Berry Cocktail.
Got good comments on my referee shirt.  Generated some great repoire with some new faces.

Business of Private Bartending: Engagement Party

On March 14th saturday was an engagement party.  The celebration of two young people starting engagment to be married.   The party was so much fun.  The decorations were simple but way cool.   I loved the bails of hay used as seating.   I'm sure thier wedding will be even more beautiful.

The learning lesson for this event.    Arrive as early as possible and reasonable for the client.
Why?  The location I was informed of was the not location the event took place.   When I arrived I discovered the change of venue.  I was 1.5 hours early to start set up.   Only to find out the venue location was different.  After getting the address, I rushed to the new location.  Luckily it was only 15 - 20 min away.    I got to the location with 1 hour for set up.  Fortunately a bar was already set up and most of the supplies were ready to go.

I pre-juice my lemon and lime juice earlier that morning so basicaly once the bottle and kegs were in place we were ready to go.   My assitant arrive just after me so she was indespensible in helping set up.  I already had my supplies of club soda, tonic, and ginger ale, garnish supplies and misc items in boxes for easy to carry packages.

Be early, prep as much as possible in advance, and always be ready for any changes that could happen.

Business if private bartending Video: See what my standard bartender package includes.

One of the common questions I hear is, What does your service include?

Well, that is a little difficult to answer.  Each event is a little different and so what I include can vary a bit.

I can tell you what I bring along with me as standard, but I can't really capture what personal touches I add that aren't part of the standard "package".

In an effort to try and quantify what my service includes I've created a list and a video to help with the visuals.

Here is what I bring:

  1. Direct contact with me. No middlemen. I work with you every step to answer questions and help wherever else I can.
  2. 1 bartender per 50-60 guests, .  This is to prevent long waits and keep all the family and friends happy.
  3. Proof of insurance and licensing/certification to your venue if they require it.
  4. Portable bar, water station, folding tables and table covers. Guest count of 150 or more, a 2nd bar station may be needed.
  5. Complete bar tools and equipment ( shakers, cutting boards, juicer machine, etc)..
  6. Ice chests and cooler tubs
  7. Standard mixers of club soda, tonic water, ginger ale and simple syrup.
  8. We squeeze fresh lemon and lime juice during the event for consistent quality all night.
  9. Standard garnishes of lemons, limes, cherries, olives, onions.
  10. All cups (9 ounce clear hard plastic), napkins, straws are included
  11. Supplies list with quantities. This is customized from the consultation I have with you and from the final cocktail menu you decide on.
  12. Consultation to get to know your tastes and expectations.  We work out the details together. .
  13. Printed and framed cocktail menu for display at the bar.
  14. My team arrives 1-2 hours in advance to set up and start the prep. Juice the lemons and limes, tap and ice the kegs, cut garnishes, set up the back bar, etc. We stay after to clean up the bar area and separate open items from sealed items. Set up and clean up are free of charge.

I made a video to help you see what I am talking about.
